  • Despite winning the Division the Rays had to play in the Wild Card Series in 2020 so in 2020 teams could play more post season games. The most possible games played to win the World Series in a normal season for a club that wins the division is 19. In 2020 it's 21 games. Tampa already played 19 games, so good on Randy. However, if it gets more hits in the next game or two, they need to add an asterisk beside his record to explain that he played in more games than normal. I think the World Series should be best of 9, not 7. In a normal season the Wild Card is one game. The Division Series is best of 5. The League Championship Series is best of 7. So the World Series should be best of 9. I don't like a runner on base in extra innings during the regular season. I hope this doesn't continue. If it does, the runner needs to start at 1st base not on 2nd. A runner on 2nd usual easily scores within 1 or 2 extra innings and it's terrible baseball. Extra innings was super exciting before, now it's not.

    • @Ray Cis imagine commenting as much as you have on a video about a player on the Rays and trying to convince somebody that Randy isn’t the highlight of this postseason. Go back to hating on anybody who doesn’t play for the Dodgers.

  • You notice how the postseason has had the most home runs, best games, maybe shorter seasons are better as the players aren't knackered by the time the playoffs come around. Which other league plays 162 games? None. Plus you'll also need fewer pitchers

    zoranskibalatskizoranskibalatskiVor 2 Monate
    • This postseason also had 2-3 more games for each team due to the Wild Card series, so of course there are more hits, home runs etc.

      Andre CanisAndre CanisVor 2 Monate
    • Or the team which has the most money to buy the best players and have the depth of talent that enables you to play at a high level when smaller teams can't afford to do that. You don't need to play the same team 18 times a year

      zoranskibalatskizoranskibalatskiVor 2 Monate
    • 162 games it what makes baseball, baseball. Its supposed to be a marathon, not a sprint. Too many random things can happen in a short season, a long year is how you can actually tell who is a good team or not

Ramirez Über AllesRamirez Über AllesVor 2 Monate
    • You could subtract the first four hits because they were in the Wild Card series. But then you'd have to do that for all others too. For example, Sandoval in second place had 26 hits, but two of those were in the WC game against the pirates. And @Juiced Box technically I'd say he has played two more than usual. The NLDS and NLCS went the full 5 and 7 games, but the Rays would not have played the 2 Wild Card games in a normal season because they finished in first place. WC game would have been Indians and White Sox I think. And just look at the "postseason games played" ranking, there are four players tied for first place with 19 games, all from the 2020 postseason. That's not a normal season.
