  • Is it time for the Cowboys to move on from Ezekiel Elliott?

    • BlackStarPower911 that’s why they suck, just sayin. You can’t make a cake with out basic ingredients. Like O line, and top notch corners, backers, and rushers. The cap has to be revisited. Separate cap for QBs, and one D player. That would be a start. They say they want to keep players healthy, how about expanding the roster. Just sayin.

  • Look! I could careless what anyone says! This man only has one body! One set of knees! One back! He is one Injury away from a career ending injury! BUT!!!! Up to this point the man has been durable! Reliable! So you have to go off his past! And his past says he will be there ready to play every Sunday! So I'm sorry, but he should DO EXACTLY WHAT BELL DID LAST YEAR! Why?? Because if he plays and gets HURT BEFORE THAT INJURY!!!! THEN IT'S ALL FOR NOTHING!!!! SO hold out!!! Stay in shape, and stay healthy!!!! And hold out until someone is ready to pay you what you are worth! Edit: linebackers, and running back have to go out and get that money! Because your career can be over tomorrow! Literally!!!!! Over tomorrow! So go get your guarantees! To set you and your family up! Then when you retire be as competitive in business as you are/were in the NFL.

  • How many great QB actually won the Super Bowl? I mean won it when they were actually great. Take Tom Brady out, and you are left with Peyton, Brees, Rogers. That is it. Ben was not great until after he won his rings. He was average to below then. Eli was above average, but not great. Russell was not great when he won. Peyton was in his first, but below average for his second. Flacco enough said. Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, no. Philly won with a backup QB, who beat the GOAT. This was only going back to 2000. Experts say you have to have a great QB to win, no, a average to good QB and good team, is really all you need. You also don't need a high 1st round draft pick either.

Half the teams have decent rbs, half of half of them have good ones, and the other 8 teams have really great ones. And Zeke is one of those rbs at the top. How many teams have good QBs? Theirs more teams with good QBs than their are teams with good rbs.

  • Zeke is immature. He is just as likely to be suspended as rush for 2,000. He is an incredible talent but he is his own worst enemy. No doubt this is about guaranteed money. He could ehlp them get to a Super Bowl. HOWEVER, he is already getting 6 million this year. He could be controlled by the Cowboys for three more years. So he should take what is offered. Imagine if they pay Zeke and he starts really acting out after he has the guaranteed money. The Cowboys have to have protection or it is all for naught. Zeke is putting his ego above the Cowboys good but more importantly above his only good. It is about maturity. Taking money out of other players hands when you are offering right at top money is unrealistic.

  • Jerry was NEVER protecting Ezekiel Elliot the man when it came to his suspension. He was defending his investment in a player for his NFL team. Don't make it sound like he was doing Zeke any favors. He was looking out for his own best interests. Also, Zeke got suspended for something that occurred before he was ever in the NFL. Jones knew of it when he drafted him. So how the fk is that Zeke's fault. That's called buyer's remorse. Nothing more and nothing less. If I sell you a used car and tell you the muffler is dragging and might fall off and you buy it anyway and a couple months later the muffler falls off, that's your bad not mine.

  • Thing is, Cowboys don't have to win SB this year, just be good. It's a team sport, needs a lot of pieces to fit together right. Imagine JJ caves to Zek & Zak. Now the patients are running the asylum. The locker room is in disarray. Has that helped the cause ? God forbid either of those selfish nutters gets hurt in week 1 or 2. 30 or 35 makes no material difference to these guys, but for JJ the savings help improve roster depth. Not about the individual, it's about the franchise.

    Jeremy JSJeremy JSVor 29 Tage
    • Jones caving in would certainly make a bad precedent. He already offered Zeke a contract that would make him the second highest paid RB in NFL history. Jones can rest on his laurels now and be patient. Zeke has zero leverage.

Tell that to Jim brown ,Walter Payton Terrel Davis Alvin kimura I could go on with the list of rbs that literally carried their teams and all they needed was a decent QB to consistently get in the postseason but never got one, RBS make the difference in the postseason...

Tfoh the last time the cards had a QB they went to the SB ,Kurt Warner with a dj Williams in the backfield is lethal, it's the cards gm and scouts the front office is the problem, they draft a coach running air raid passing offenses but draft no oline , again, and a passing QB familiar with it..same thing in Arizona since Kurt was there..no QB no oline no wins, Pat Peterson Calais Campbell Fitzgerald Budda Baker dj Williams or any other quality player they've had /have can't be singled out for something the owner and gm are responsible for...I feel for cards fans cause imagine what Murray could do with some blocking and pass catchers to help him out...oh yeah and without the league messing with him for hand clapping snaps...ijs

Why, because somebody sent every wagging tongue in the NFL a press release and talking points. Which somebody? Well, who's side is everybody picking? Facts are that Zeke is an evil man, and nobody knows this better than Jerry, who himself, is an evil man. Jerry is 78 years old. Lot of time to spend expressing yourself. Just pay Zeke.

    dylan yatesdylan yatesVor 29 Tage
  • Reality is Zeke has no leverage on Jerry. Analytics: Elliott was 22nd among qualifying backs when running to close out a game. Last season, the Dallas Cowboys ranked 10th in red zone expected points added (EPA) per play on short-yardage runs in the red zone and 22nd in short-yardage success rate. For a team that boasts one of the league’s better rushing attacks, these are far from elite numbers. Elliott ranked 16th in EPA per play and 28th in success rate among running backs with at least five short red zone rushes. Red zone efficiency doesn’t require a big name running back. Even outside the red zone, Zeke isn’t elite in short situations, just 11th in the league. Situationally, Zeke is profoundly average and is easily replaced by nearly any back talented enough to make a Week 1 NFL roster. (Cowboys still don't get how to use backs situationally, like Belichick just showed the league with Sony Michel.) Overuse of Zeke is the problem, it's an objectively poor offensive strategy by the Cowboys. Dak can't throw for 350, so fall back on Zeke. Stop Zeke, beat the Cowboys, every time; just like James Harrison said..... hahahaha But if you buy into those padded stats of total yds for the season as some attempt to justify the overspend at the position, by all means, write Zeke a big check.... hahahaha...... For Dallas, encouraged to run more and pass less, it impacts play calling in the worst possible way. The Cowboys will cave, pay Zeke, that's why it's not hard to predict: Dallas is not Superbowl bound anytime soon. Jerry who??

    Gary CrookGary CrookVor 29 Tage
    • Not only does Zeke have zero leverage in this situation, he is seriously putting his job in jeopardy. If Pollard comes out of the gates hot, Zeke's Cowboy days could be over. He should have taken the deal that made him the second highest paid running back in NFL history. Instead, he's letting his ego dictate his judgement. Not smart.
