  • This is so weird. Vettel fucked up and lost control, then rejoined the track slowing down the car behind him who would have passed had Vettel not swung across the entire track into Hamilton's line. If Vettel had done the decent thing and lifted off the throttle, conceding the position, he might have made it up again considering Hamilton's 2 second penalty. As it is he just ploughed on. Nobody to blame but himself.

  • I'm not a Vettel Fan and i really think that Hamilton is way better driver than him, but look, imo Sebastian had no fault here, Lewis tried to overtake from inside, and like seb said he had no other place to go. I feel kinda bad for him because fia is clearly favoring Mercedes on the last couple of years, but Ferrari deserves it, back then, Schumi's era, Ferrari was always using fia to beat Alonso and Hakkinen, plus what they did with Barrichello in Austria, well, i hope everything will change for 2021, it can't get worse than this.

All those people look for better rules go fuck yourselves, blame the teams instead for being to slow. Im glad mercedes keeps winning. They need to help crybaby Ferrari know how it feels to be at the bottom. for the many years ferrari was on top all the fkers didnt complain about rules while teams struggled to keep pace and catch up. even when rules where in the process of being made to help other teams, ferrari fought against it all so that they can be on top. Now that they arent, they cry about every fucking race. bunch of sore losers.

  • It has been team and driver complaints that have led to penalties being applied. Hamilton, Vettel etc.. they are all guilty of lodging complaints when blocked.. unfortunately they now have to sleep in the bed they made.

  • 100% deadly fault this rule "unsafe reentry" at this spot. grass-strip ist Danger Zone (force majeure), punish-free FREE PASSAGE! The traffic anticipates the accident driver with foresight - no coercion! HAM himself steering into this situation. Vettel in trouble with right of way! Principles: LAW FOR HUMAN FREE WILL and SAFETY FIRST FOR ALL DRIVERS! A law is theory for all sorts of constellations. Stewards have applied the opposite arbitrariness! It's an assassination, from ambush a shot into the back of the passenger (like JFK-assassination). Forbidden by Police! That's not to laugh, when life is endangered from wrong rule-comprehension by Officials! Whole F1-World with collective mind loss! Normally a blackout to revision within 1 second!

  • All these Ferrari fan boys shittin on FIA. You can clearly see Sebastien Vettel regain control of the car as he even decides to then step on the gas, accelerating off the grass patch and back onto the racing line with not a care in the world; racing line in particular when he could have stayed on the left side of the road instead. Nothing but a dirty driver tryin to play off what he did, well deserved 5 sec penalty. Not forgetting how he reacted at the 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, this clown is better off being a NASCAR driver than for F1. I use to respect this guy, what a joke.

  • There's no other way Vettel could have re-entered the track safely as Hamilton was aggressively trying to overtake him from the right. These cars are too fast to for the human senses to react. It was unintentional. Bad decisions spoil the sport.

  • Vettel's pentasecond pullback was a function of when he re-entered the track, not how he re-entered it. If Hamilton hadn't been sufficiently near when Vettel re-entered the track, no obstruction, no penalty. But because Hamilton was sufficiently near, there was obstruction, and there was penalty. The moral of the story: don't make a racing mistake when there's a competitor right on your tail. If you do, give up track position and then go on the attack to regain position. Expect punishment from stewards if you refuse to punish yourself for a racing mistake that you caused and which affected another's race. As a rule, racing mistakes are not punishable or are punished when they don't affect another driver's race. Pax

    TheZookieMonsterTheZookieMonsterVor 2 Monate
  • He goes off the road and fails to yield to Hamilton knowing full well that Lewis is on his tail and, of course, had an excuse for it too. If you're off course and rejoining the race, the drivers following their line take priority.

    Baran AygunBaran AygunVor 2 Monate
    • Furthermore, you can see clearly that after coming back on the road, Seb made a second, additional steer to the right once he realized Hamilton was attempting to overtake. Stupid move on his part, and if he was a good sport and tucked in behind Lewis after that awfully lazy countersteering into T3 then he would've had the chance to retake the lead.

      Baran AygunBaran AygunVor 2 Monate
  • Yeah totally, how ridiculous, Vettel should have just stopped the car in the grass and waited to safely rejoin, oh wait.. that's impossible. And also when he went back on track, I don't know why he didn't activate his tire grass cleaner button and insta-traction button, silly Vettel. And apparently his car became invisible when he touched the grass, and it caught Hamilton totally by surprise. Hamilton probably would've caught him anyways in the end, but I'd rather see things play out on track and not in some room behind a desk.

  • I think the call was a good one. Watching the opponent and steering into him. Racing has always been dangerous. Gotta watch like hawks, or people throw bolts out the window.

    Kurtis EngleKurtis EngleVor 2 Monate
  • I disagree completely with the decision. The rule is for a driver that has exited (e..g. slid) off the track, is in control, and has at least a second to plan when and how to rejoin the race. Vettel was still racing and while he perhaps had some control, he was racing. He is allowed one move and that was to the right, and that blocked Ham. Too bad - that is racing. Vettel made a mistake and was able to save the car and finish first, so why should he be punished. Why not let them race? That is exactly why Formula One was fantastic racing in the past. This is why the ‘new F1’ is so boring and losing fans. I can no longer watch a race without a break since it puts me to sleep.

    SLAMSLAMVor 2 Monate
    • Blocking while racing on the track is a different beast from blocking while coming back onto the track (after first going off it). On-track blocking can be reasonably anticipated by the blocked driver, and when it can't be reasonably anticipated, as in double-move blocking, the double-move is deemed dangerous and punishable. Similar to double-move blocking, track re-entry blocking cannot be reasonably anticipated and poses an unacceptable hazard ... the blocked driver is forced to take evasive action when things arrive on the racing line from the offside (e.g. track officials, debris, other F1 racing cars, etc.). Blocked drivers are extremely focused on the racing line because professional race tracks are expected to be closed systems. It is unreasonable to expect the blocked driver to spend some of that extreme focus on things coming from the offside, because that would negatively impact their speed on the track. Speed is a function of extreme focus on the racing line, among other things. The wrong racing line, for example, penalizes a player in tenths of a second. To expect Hamilton then to abandon extreme focus on the racing line in order to anticipate what Vettel's car was doing ... goes against the definition of competitive driving in a closed system. Why should Hamilton be penalized for his extreme focus, and Vettel be rewarded for his lapse in focus? That's ass-backwards thinking, IMO. Pax
