  • NO Need to have all these historically Black Colleges, many have struggled financially and in perpetuity. Because the nearly all alums do not financially support their Alma matter- I say close all these mediocre historically black colleges and send the all students and financial support to one or two major black universities. 87% of Blacks college graduates end up in low paid government jobs, rather than the private sector, i.e Wall Street, Silicon Valley or as entrepreneurs…. A shame.

  • HBCU are beautiful for the younger generation seeing this. Going to a school like an HBCU you can finally be taught about yourself. Why not take a chance you get 100 years to live in life. You take 4 years out too learn of yourself. You didn’t learn of yourself in high school, middle, or elementary. You were taught that you were just a slave. Go to an HBCU and find out where you really came from and who you are and what you represent! Fisk University is my HBCU. I love my HBCU!!!

  • Deion is in this for himself only, make no mistake about it. He won't care about the school or the young men that he recruits there if they can't take him where he wants to go. Deion has always been a wolf in sheep's clothing. He has alot of tRump in him. He just wants to coach his son in college to make sure he starts as a freshman.

  • College sports is a business, period. In terms of endorsements, merchandise, ticket sales, concessions etc. it brings in billions annually. So the suggestion that these pwi are recruiting the top black athletes because of some benevolent act of kindness towards the less fortunate is nonsense. These athletes and their extraordinary talent privide the fuel to the economic engine that supports the schools, period. This is more than about athletics, it is really about group economics. Everyone practices group economics, except black people. So this suggestion of "reverse racism" is just an effort to continue to exploit black talent. As a collective, white people don't do anything that doesn't benefit them first and foremost, especially for black people. Black people must purge ourselves of this insatiable desire for white acceptance and white approval. If black people really want to know how these pwi feel about black people, look at our representation where the money is. The coaches, the assistant coaches, the administration, the Presidents, the team doctors, the faculty, etc. What is our representation in these roles? Black athletes provide the talent that supports six figure incomes for primarily white people, while they play for free. Meanwhile, the coaches families live in gated communities, attend private schools, beginning in elementary, and are considered prestigious. The black athletes, well they return to their less fortunate communities in the summer with hopefully no TBI. They are generating wealth for another group that doesn't sincerely value or appreciate them, their hiring practices outside of athletics demonstrates that. We must purge ourselves of this notion that the white man's water is colder. We are intelligent, talented, industrious people who must use our abilities and resources to enrich and empower our own community first. Every community does this, especially white people. Again, look at the hiring practices of Latinos, Asians, whites, etc. They all will do business with anyone, they'll take anybody's money. But where do they spend their money? More specifically, who do they spend their money with? I am super proud of Deion Sanders and I wish him continued success in this new endeavor. Black first!

  • A child hood freind of mine is a business manager of Dion. But we all should support HBCs. Our people graduate and have black wives. Morehouse had to pass a rule of men wearing dresses. Our community has come a long way from the black consciousness of the 60s pro black rebels. We went the wrong way.
