  • The underlying plot of House is the story of Chase becoming the next House. This was one of the milestone episodes of that, along with those of him accepting being fired by house, killing the dictator, returning as the "prodigal son". House's underlings were either too straight laced (Foreman, Cameron) or too reckless (Thirteen and Kutner) except Chase who wasn't trying to impress House, he was learning from him. House may have liked the crazy ones more and enjoyed teasing the goodie2shoes but Chase was the natural heir.

Hep B is mostly spread by emergency workers coming into contact with infected blood or through sexual contact with someone with an active infection. Still, out of those infected with Hep B, less than 10 percent require treatment. Regarding Hep C and liver donors, we've tested for that since 1989. Also, Hep C is rarely if at all, transmitted sexually.

    • @Vikhyat Gupta Meh. "Euphoria" was overrated, IMO. The premise and the setup were good, if trite ("One Of Our Own"), but the unnecessary added "drama" of Foreman stabbing Cameron and Omar Epps' over-acting dragged part two down terribly. (Again, just my opinion.) "Wilson's Heart," "Nobody's Fault," "Hunting" (to an extent), and the above-mentioned "Three Stories" were all better-done examples of the "one of our own" trope.

  • Chase's "mistake" was that he didn't investigate the sister's symptoms carefully enough. This happened because of a strong mitigating circumstance that distracted him, I.e. the sudden news of his father's death. You might think that this is NOT an 'excuse' but that's the wrong way of looking at it. The show portrayed it perfectly..... it's not an excuse, but it is enough to show that Chase does not deserve to be hung out to dry. *NOTE* The correct thing to do in Chase's situation would be to immediately recuse himself for the day or perhaps two days so he can properly deal with his father's death. That was his real mistake.

    • @Richaerd Daley "Chase had ample time after he made a cock up of her diagnosis to go back and revise what he advised to her" Watch the episode. That's exactly what he did do. He had Nurse Brenda call her to come back in because he realized her unvoiced "doorknob" question might have been about blood in her stool, but it was two hours later and it was too late. Her ulcer had perforated. And he didn't make a "cock-up" of her diagnosis. She didn't tell him about all the ibuprofen she was taking and the blood in her stool, and he didn't think to ask that particular question when she waylaid him in the clinic because he had found out literally _ten seconds before_ about his dad.

      Wobby 1Wobby 1Vor 13 Tage
    • Not caring about a patient's presenting symptoms due to overwhelming news - Chase had ample time after he made a cock up of her diagnosis - to go back and revise what he advised to her - he also could have ensured he gets a consult from another doctor as a second opinion to what he did and prescribed for her - all of these steps are risk mitigating steps if you recognise you limitations and act accordingly putting patient care at your number 1 priority. It wasn't like she was dying and chase had seconds to act - he made a diagnosis and had ages to think whether that was correct and get another doctor to revisit her case and see her - instead he could care less due to his father's death - and then forgot about it. No excuse for that.

Since he was shocked and didn't pay her enough attention then, he missed a fatal but treatable illness until it was too late. Then she needed an urgent liver transplant, but for some reason that I don't remember, they couldn't find one except the brother, who forged his tests to hide that he had Hepatite C in order to be able to give her the liver. She got sicker from the cancer the brother didn't know he had and died, after which Chase lied about the reason he had missed the original illness out of guilt and brought himself a lawsuit. So here's everyone trying to figure out from him what really occurred
