The cadence , calmness and timeless class in this song is an epitome of hiphop's true DNA. Any hiphop song that makes you nostalgic, long for a place you have never been and breaks the walls around you is a classic. I thank you Busta and Q Tip for producing this timeless piece. Indeed, "Don't Go" decompartmentalizes time in the sense that it effortlessly teleports us to Hiphop's golden era, while transfixing us in the current time where everyone thinks "hiphop is dead" to use Nas' 2008 assertion. Interestingly, the sound in this song is strikingly similar to that of "You Can't Hold The Torch" , where Busta and Q Tip decry the decaying of hiphop which at that time was being plagued by "auto tune" and "T-Paining too much" to quote Hov. I can safely say at least with an ounce of confidence and the last atom of my strength that "Dont Go" gives us another opportunity to bask in that Golden era of hiphop we solemnly miss. Hiphop means a lot to me, growing up in a Zimbabwean township (the hood), hiphop led me to discover the world I had never known . It was my Encyclopedia, for instance, Nas introduced me to the poet Rudyard Kipling, DMX with his "Slippin'" song made me as a teenager reflect on the importance of a parent's love and how its affects us in our adult life.
