    • Investing in a serious 10ABC extinguisher is good. Knowing how to properly use one is better. Knowing when to use one is best. Evacuate before your exit is compromised. Kill the igniter. Isolate the source. Move people/flammables away. Smother the combustion. PASS is the acronym: Pull - out the pin that prevents accidental discharge Aim - the nozzle towards the fire Squeeze - the trigger Sweep - the nozzle side to side Things can always be replaced. People can't.

  • I had actually used my cordless drill on my hand-crank coffee grinder. Two issues we ran into. One was if someone used it too fast it actually heated up and started slightly roasting beans. No bueno. The other was my buddy (and no, the "buddy" was not secretly me) used it at max speed and actually melted the cheap grinder components. It was. Hario Skerton Pro. C'est la vie.

  • so many memories i've forgotten what chilling does to the wings, but I've used one of those to steam wings followed by baking, and they came out great. I don't remember whether I actually did refrigerate them after steaming, maybe I did.. or maybe I got impatient. I've always wanted to try the box smoker though! such a smart and cheap method to do something which our ancestors would appreciate. The whole point of smoking is to do something simple and cheap to preserve some food.

  • I prefer the terracotta Flower Pot Smoker. I have been using mine for 15 years and several Hot Plates and Modifications. I am well over 1000 Lbs of meat smoked in it. It also inspired me to convert an old propane smoker into a brick pizza oven with a Terracotta Flower Pot on top. I can heat it with propane (much easier than wood fired) and still throw a chunk of wood in the smoker box to get Wood Fired Brick Oven Experience.
