  • Wins 3rd NationalTitle with no ACLs in either knee. They asked him why he never said anything? His response. "Eight days ago, I tore my ACL in my other knee. I'm wrestling with no ACLs," Lee said. Why didn't you say anything? Lee. *Whatever, man. I didn't want to tell anybody, because excuses are for wusses* "That was a tough tournament for me. I could barely wrestle. I could barely shoot. I can't sprawl. But you know what? I believe in my coaching staff and everybody who believed in me."

  • I think we should all recognize that we are seeing history with Spencer Lee, there are levels to everything Spencer Lee is on another level when it comes to NCAA wrestling, the Total domination body control to go straight from takedown to tilt is some of the most amazing wrestling I've ever seen in my life. This entire Iowa Hawkeye lineup is murderers, what a great NCAA tournament we have to look forward to this year.

  • Love Lee. But I never understood him staying at this weight. If he is such a beast.

    EricEricVor Monat
    • Lots of all timers have wrestled at this weight historically, and in fact, there used to be a lighter weight class. Lee cleared out 125 because no one wanted any part of him. When he pinned Picc and NATO, then totally dominated #1 Suriano( who hadn’t given up a point and had just beaten the defending champ Cruz) as a FRESHMAN, people starting gaining weight. When he came off Mono and stuck Russell, easily handled Picc, and dominated Mueller( who was a huge 125 and had just destroyed Seabass), every all you can eat buffet was packed with 125 pounders all across the land. Lee is a only 5’3 and small boned, so he’s still not a big 125. Further, he’s going to be 57kg at the Olympics. Suriano won at 133 after getting manhandled by Lee at 125, so Lee could dominate any class he wanted with enough time to grow into it. He’s just better, period.

      cbrend22cbrend22Vor Monat
    • He’s 5’3”with a moderate frame. He’d be tiny at any other weight. He’s not big at this weight.

    • he is attempting to compete at the 2021 Olympics at 125.6 / 57 kilos.

  • Lees domineering style is exactly what USA wrestling was longing for. We've had undefeated wrestlers since the golden age, we've had 4 timers, and we've had aggressive styles but none compare so closely to the brutality (in a good way) to the Schultzs, Brands, Banachs, etc like Spencer Lee. Lee is the revivalist of USA wrestling here in 2021. Bringing old school home.

    Pops ColaPops ColaVor Monat
    • Not really because college is folk style and in the Olympics it's not

      Itz DavidItz DavidVor Monat
    • Lee is my boy, i’’m a PA guy and I’ve been following Lee since he was in 7th grade. He is as dominant as anyone on his feet and is better on top than anyone ever( including Gene Mills because Lee has more variety and is doing it in the B1G) and he is on his way to 🐐 status. However, in terms of sheer brutality, I think Retherford was right there. Until this year when he started really using the bar/half and taking guys over the top( which he did in HS), Lee used mainly tilts, which were effective, but not physically punishing. Zain uses that power half and his bow and arrow and hurt people. Metcalf was another, although a bit older, but he was mean as a snake on the mat.
